Versatec Energy is one of the sponsors of the Process Safety Congress, Wednesday October 1st, 2021 at the Van der Valk Hotel Dordrecht.
The goal of this congress is to increase knowledge about major accidents at major hazard sites. Major hazard sites are industrial sites that manufacture, process or store dangerous chemicals and other substances in quantities that could pose a risk to workers, people in the vicinity of the site and the environment in the event of a major accident.
Erik Rutgers will host a presentation Overrides & Normalisation at 14.30 p.m. in Room 2.

Versatec participated in the 2020 Virtual European Conference on Process Safety and Big Data on October 13 and 14, 2020.
Joep Coenen, Senior consultant, was on behalf of Versatec one of the panel members in the session:
Customer Success Factors in Getting Started on Big Data & Analytics Journey.
The key question of this session was: “ How does your company proof compliance in the area of Process Safety to the authorities given the fact that critical Process Safety information is usually scattered across multiple data sources such as SAP, SharePoint, Smart plant PID, etc. ?”
The main outcomes of this panel discussion were:
- Most companies manually search through the various data sources and collect Process Safety data as and when requested on the day that the authorities are conducting their Process Safety audit.
- A lot of companies manually search through the various data sources and collect Process Safety data in advance to the Process Safety audit.
- Only a few companies automatically connect PS data within different data sources with each other and ensure that the Process Safety data is always consistent and complete every day.
- Companies that are compliant still see the need to increase the quality of their SRS process. They experience mismatches and the lack of correct references in their critical documents as a major problem.

Ook Versatec kan natuurlijk niet ontbreken op de Waterinfodag op 8 & 9 september 2020!
De Waterinfodag is een onafhankelijk congres, beurs én netwerkdag over de informatievoorziening in de watersector. Aanwezig zijn medewerkers van waterschappen, Rijkswaterstaat, provincies, gemeenten en bedrijven.
Het thema van de Waterinfodag is “Hoe verbinden wij vandaag, morgen en overmorgen?” over welke rol de mens speelt binnen de digitale transformatie.
Ook zijn er in deze huidige en veelal lastige Coronatijd met veel thuiswerken veel innovatieve werkprocessen en oplossingen onstaan en is het niet meer weg te denken: bedrijven en installaties moeten verder gedigitaliseerd worden zodat u ook in de toekomst kunt vertrouwen op de veiligheid van uw installaties, ook met minder beschikbare mankracht.
Versatec kan hierbij helpen en biedt kennis, kunde en geïntegreerde data oplossingen in de technische veiligheid, compliance en het veilig opereren van installaties. Bekijkt u dit cartoon filmpje maar eens!

Bericht vanuit de organisatie van de Waterinfodag:
De Waterinfodag op 8 en 9 september gaat helaas niet door
De Waterinfodag is vorm gegeven volgens het coronaprotocol voor congressen. Echter kregen wij recent de mededeling van Rijkswaterstaat dat hun medewerkers tot eind van dit jaar geacht worden thuis te werken en geen fysieke bijeenkomst te bezoeken. Gevolgd door eenzelfde bericht van het Waterschapshuis en een aantal waterschappen. Naast het niet mogen komen van de medewerkers heeft men vraagtekens over het netwerkkarakter van de dag. Er kunnen per dag minder bezoekers in de locatie dan gewenst. Tevens moet men afstand houden. En de bezoekers verdelen zich over 2 dagen. Dit gaat ten koste van het netwerkkarakter van de dag. Dit karakter is voor velen een belangrijke reden om te komen.
Het is, gezien de afwezigheid van RWS en vele waterscheppers niet verstandig om de Waterinfodag 2020 door te laten gaan. Daarom annuleren we de Waterinfodag 2020.

Our advice: also look at your important operational documents.
Updating and maintaining operational documents is generally not a high priority.
And yet the lack of information or the use of the wrong information is a major cause of unsafe situations, incidents or accidents.
When your important operational information is not up-to-date, not complete, difficult to find or to understand, your employees have insufficient knowledge to be able to work safely.
As a result, short cuts and wrong decisions are made, resulting in unsafe situations, near misses, accidents, incidents, spills, and LTI’s.

At the EPSC in Frankfurt, Versatec and Radial SG present their 2nd mission to the safety data universe. This event takes place on the 1st and 2nd October 2019.
During this mission we highlight the importance of dynamic checklists.
With such dynamic checklists companies are much better equipped to validate and maintain their process safety compliance.

During a lecture on 28 March 2019 in the Maritime Museum in Rotterdam, Geothermal Platform indicated that geothermal energy is an important pillar for making energy demand in the Netherlands more sustainable.
It was even mentioned as an upside that in 2050 there might be 700 doubles operational. Let this be an optimistic approach, but it is clear that a lot of installations will be built in the coming decades.
